Biafra's Missing Children

President Bush announced today a new initiative of his administration. Speaking in the Rose Garden, a spot normally reserved for signing of important legislation, Bush declared May 21 "Biafran Missing Children's Day. This is a truly historic day," said Bush. "For nearly four decades, the lost and missing children of Biafra have been forgotten. These children were once world famous for their starvation. Now they're hardly in the news. We hear more about kids in the Darfur region. My administration will do something about this," decided Bush.
Foxx Plans Special: "Survivor Biafra"
Appearing with him in the Rose Garden was Peter Chernin, President of FOXX. FOXX plans a new reality television show highlighting the plight of the once starving Biafran children called "Survivor Biafra". The show will star the former chair of the Centre for the Missing and Exploited Children Ted Theodore Logan. Logan said he "looked forward to the opportunity of finding these children."
Member of the "Clean Plate Club"
"When I was a kid growing up in San Dimas I couldn't leave anything on my plate without my Mom saying 'Remember the starving children in Biafra'. Now I never hear of them. You'd think they discovered oil under them or something." Mr. Logan, along with his life partner Bill S. Preston, plan a series of concerts to raise awareness of the Biafran Children's plight and his new show.
Two New Foxx Shows
The television show will air on Wednesday and Thursday nights just before "The Great Wall 2 Mexico". "We expect these shows to be a terrific one-two punch," said Chernin. "Missing Biafran children and the building of a great new wall in Mexico. What could be better TV?" quipped Chernin.
Members of the media pressed Presidential spokesperson Tawny Snow for clarification given the fact that Biafra hasn't existed as a country since 1970. "See, what did I tell you? They really are missing. We don't make this stuff up just to distract you from the war in Iraq."
Bush Staff Pleads Ignorance
Senior administration officials disavowed any involvement in this latest Presidential initiative. "What can we say?" said one official begging for anonimity.
